Mekong Delta



This tour package combines a set of “you gotta do this” activities with a chance to experience the vibrant local culture of the Mekong Delta.  You’ll get close to nature, spend time cycling around small villages, and eat authentic food, prepared from just-picked local ingredients. And if you’re a serious foodie, you can even cook with your host family if you wish. You’ll also have the chance to check out local workshops to see how a variety of craft people create their unique products.

Other sights may include wildlife viewing and photography, plus short visits to a local Chocolate Farm and the French-designed Binh Thuy ancient house.

> DAY 1: SAIGON – TIEN GIANG/ BEN TRE (Lunch/Dinner)

7:45: A warm welcome from your tour guide at your hotel, then depart for My Tho, Tien Giang.

9:30: Arrive at the boat station, transfer by boat to the island, then may the fun commence!

  • Visit a famous island in MEKONG DELTA to view local orchards, farms and rice fields, before spending time with local families in their homes.
  • Board a motorboat for a short trip to visit a coconut candy factory.  
  • Visit an apiary (bee-keeping farm) and enjoy honey tea.  
  • Enjoy a lunch of five authentic Vietnamese dishes and fruit for desert.
  • Listen to Vietnamese traditional music at a UNESCO site. 
  • Taste tropical fruits grown in this region. 
  • Take a rowing boat on a river lined with overhanging coconut trees.

13:30: After exploring the island, going for Ben Tre province.

14:00: Check in the homestay, take a rest and enjoy yourself. Here you can spend time with a local family and enjoy cooking time, fishing, or cycling around the nearby area. 


> DAY 2: TIEN GIANG/ BEN TRE – CAN THO (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Relax at your homestay and have breakfast!

10:30: Head to Can Tho City. On the way, you’ll stop at a Chocolate Farm, where you’ll see first-hand how chocolate is made in a family-owned business.

13:00: Have lunch at a local restaurant.

14:30: Arrive and check in at your hotel.

18:30: Meet your tour guide and go for dinner. You’ll choose either a Food Tour or Riverside Restaurant to try authentic Vietnamese food with some of these choices below (you can discuss with the guide in person!):

  • Duck hotpot – duck meat cooked with tofu cheese, paired with vegetables and taro.
  • Nem Nướng – grilled pork sausage, smothered with tangy vegetables.
  • Cơm tấm – broken rice with barbecued pork ribs. 
  • Bánh xèo – Vietnamese savory pancake.
  • Bánh tráng nướng – Vietnamese pizza.
  • Xôi – sticky rice and smoothie for dessert.
  • ADVENTURE FOOD:  Eggplant in clay pot, frog, rat, snake, etc.  Please request this option in advance with your guide.

20:00: Back to the hotel to relax or take a walk around the night market or Chinese Temple...


> DAY 3: CAN THO – SAI GON (Breakfast, Lunch)

5:15: You’ll have an early departure to visit Cai Rang floating market, the highlight of every visit. We will travel by private boat, passing through a network of small canals to give you a closer look at local life.

Next we’ll visit a noodle-making operation and view local fruit gardens, before enjoying traditional Vietnamese coffee and Hu Tieu on the boat a local pork noodle soup that makes an excellent breakfast!

8:30: Travel by bicycle around the village to get a closer look at life in this rustic part of the countryside. On the way, you’ll stop at Gian Gua historial relic (a former military shelter during the Vietnam War).

12:00: After a morning of invigorating sightseeing, you’ll head back to the hotel and check out.

12:30: Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, including several Mekong specialities!

13:30: Time permitting, we can visit Binh Thuy ancient house, a French-built historical landmark.

14:00: Boarding a van for your return to Saigon.

17:30: We will arrive Saigon, hop out at your hotel and finish the tour.
