Mekong Delta



This tour package combines a set of “You gotta’ do this” activities with a close up chance to experience the vibrant local culture of the Mekong Delta.  You’ll get close to nature, spend time cycling around small villages, and eat authentic food, prepared from just-picked local ingredients. If you’re a serious foodie, you’ll cook side-by-side with your host family if you wish.  You’ll have a chance to check out local workshops to see how a variety of craft people create their unique products.

Other sights may include wildlife viewing and photography, a short visit to a local Chocolate farm, the French-designed Binh Thuy ancient house.

  • Itinerary:


7:45: Welcome by our tour guide at your hotel, then depart for My Tho, Tien Giang.

9:30: Arrive at the boat station, transfer by boat to the island, for activities like this:

    • Visit a famous island to view local orchards, farms and rice fields.
    • Board a motorboat for a short trip to visit a coconut candy factory.  You’ll watch as workers make the candy for which this region is well known and have a chance to sample the final product!
    • Visit an apiary (bee-keeping farm) and enjoy honey tea.  Along the way, you’ll stop for a brief visit in a typical Mekong home.
    • Enjoy lunch of five authentic Vietnamese dishes and fruit for desert.
    • Travel in one of Vietnam’s unique motorcycle taxis (known as XE LOI, optional) to reach a UNESCO site to hear Vietnamese traditional music. Seasonal tropical fruits can be tasted.
    • You’ll board a small boat for a leisurely cruise through a small creek with beautiful overhanging coconut trees. Life on both sides of the creek can be observed from your boat as the owner slowly paddles along this picturesque region.
  • 13:30: After exploring the island, going for Ben Tre province.
  • 14:00: Check in the homestay, taking a rest and enjoy yourself.
  •  .........: Spending time with the local family to share cooking time, fishing, cycling around the neighbor area. 


…….: Spending the morning relax at the homestay and have breakfast.

10:30: Heading to Can Tho city. On the way, you’ll stop at a Chocolate Farm, where seeing first-hand how chocolate is made in this family-owned business.

13:00: Having lunch at the local restaurant.

14:30: Arrive and check in the hotel.

18:30: Meet the tour guide and go for dinner. You’ll choose either a Food Tour or Riverside Restaurant to try authentic Vietnamese food with some of these choices below: (You can discuss with the guide in person) 

  • Duck hotspot - duck meet cooked with tofu cheese, paired with vegetables and taro.
  • Nem Nướng - grilled pork sausage, smothered with tangy vegetables.
  • Cơm tấm - broken rice with barbequed pork ribs. 
  • Bánh xèo - Vietnamese savory pancake.
  • Bánh tráng nướng - Vietnamese pizza.
  • Xôi - sticky rice and smoothie for dessert.
  • ADVENTURE FOOD:  Eggplant in clay pot, frog, rat, snake, etc.  Please request this option in advance with your guide.

20:00: Back to the hotel and enjoy by your own: walking around the night market, Chinese temple...

DAY 3: CAN THO – SAI GON (Breakfast, Lunch)

5:15: You’ll have an early departure to visit Cai Rang floating market, the highlight of every visit. We will travel by private boat, passing through a network of small canals to bring you a closer look at local life. Continue visit a noodle making operation and view local fruit gardens, before enjoying traditional Vietnamese coffee and Hu Tieu - pork noodle soup local as breakfast on the boat.

8:30: Then, travelling by bicycle around the village to get a closer look at life in this rustic part of the countryside. On the way, you’ll stop at Gian Gua historial relic (a former military shelter during Vietnam war).

12:00: After a morning of invigorating sightseeing, you’ll head back to the hotel and check out.

12:30: Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. to sample local specialties.

13:30: Time permitting, you visit Binh Thuy ancient house, a French-built historical landmark.

14:00: Boarding a van for your return to Saigon.

17:30: We will arrive Saigon, hop out at your hotel and finish the tour.
